The Walkaway Dress Challenge

I was on youtube and a video popped up about a sewing challenge. So you know I grew curious and did some research. Everyone is seeing how fast they can sew the 1950's walkaway dress. 

This pattern looked super familiar to me and I had a feeling I already had this pattern. It turns out I did not have the first print of it but I had the new reprint of it. So I decided to take the challenge and see how fast could I sew this dress!!!

It was a blast to see how fast I could sew it and still talk to the camera so it wasn't just me with my head down sewing the whole time. If I was to sit down and just sew it, I think I could sew it even faster! Which seems crazy, but it is only a 3 piece pattern. I wold also like to make it out of a sheer fabric as a beach cover up. I think it would be beautiful over a swimsuit.

Also it turns out a fellow Youtube sewer started the challenge. What great fun! Thank you Stephanie Canada! I was watching her video where she burned the reproduction pattern because they changed a few things like the hem and a side seam. LOL. Too funny. I sewed up the reproduction pattern and it looks just like the original so I am here to say that the reproduction pattern will give you the same results as the original printed pattern.
