#LOOKOFTHEWEEK
Happy first day of the week! As many of you know, the Oscars were last night and, of course, we watched it for the fashion. Anastasia went to an Oscars Party hosted by The Chicago Chic at Nellcote, courtesy of her best friend Sean Moran. You can search what happened at the event using the hashtag - #hauteoscars. There were so many gorgeous gowns designed by talented well-known and emerging fashion designers. We want to share with you Anastasia's Top 3 Favorite Looks from last night, our Runner-Up and our least favorite look. Let us know what you think using the hashtag #LOOKOFTHEWEEK and enjoy!
1. Cate Blanchett in an Armani Prive
This dress was our top pick because it is tailored perfectly to her body and there are no awkward proportions. The color of the dress is a perfect match against her skin tone. The flowers were used untraditionally at her shoulders to create an interesting cap sleeve and the plunging V-Neckline is tastefully done, completing the look.
2. Rooney Mara in Givenchy Haute Couture
This dress was our 2nd pick because it is very ethereal looking. The cut out in the middle makes the look interesting, as well as the high neckline. The dress is sheer, but has heavy detail which makes it light and airy. I love the modern interpretation. It has a victorian feel to it with the buttons down the front, long sleeves, and cuffs.
3. Sofia Vergara in Marchesa
This is our 3rd pick because of the different textures. It has satin, organza, and heavy beading. The take on the strapless sweetheart gown is fabulous and the draping on the right hip makes it super chic. The silhouette works on her and is tailored nicely to her body. She doesn't look like she is uncomfortable or falling out of the dress, which is always a plus.
Runner-Up: Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell
Lady Gaga is our runner-up because she is not in a dress. We like the unique take on a pantsuit with beautiful lines and pleats on the waist draping down. This outfit is a little ill fitting on the top, but a little padding would do the trick!
Least Favorite Look: Kate Winslet in Ralph Lauren
Really, what was she thinking? Missy Elliot already did the garbage bag look, no need to repeat it. There is no detail on it and does not fit her too well. We still love you Kate!
