In this class, you’ll learn the advanced sewing techniques listed below, building on what you learned in Sewing 101.
We will make 3 garments in this class.
Start Dates for new sessions 2022:
We will meet once a week on Sunday afternoon
We will start with putting together the PDF sewing pattern and measuring them for your size. Then we will go over cutting, grain lines and prepping the fabric to start sewing. We will then go over the following techniques within the 3 project's.
Sewing inset V points & corners/points
Use batting and a walking foot to make a quilt square
Smocking with elastic a.k.a ruching
Use a twin needle for stitching
Making bias tape & applying it
Working with unique fabrics
You’ll make a sample for each new technique to add to your sewing binder with notes on how you made it. You’ll also use each technique on one of the 3 projects, so when you’re finished with class you’ll have both references to look back at. Plus you get to wear your awesome sewing projects!
If you haven’t taken 101, you can still take sewing 102, but you need to be able to confidently operate a sewing machine and create basic seams to attend.
