Sewing Fashion Design Summer Camp July 17th - 21st
In 1 super-fun week, our students develop all the skills they need to start their fashion design sewing journeys. It's perfect for brand new and developing sewers. All sewing supplies, patterns, etc are included 😃.
Monday Jul 17th - Friday Jul 21st
10am-3pm everyday at 2041 W Carroll Ave in Chicago.
The Fun Stuff
Students will start by learning to thread a sewing machine (we have a studio full of top-notch Husqvarna Viking machines to use), and then they'll dive straight into project based learning experiences. They can wear something home they make the very first day!
As students make projects like ruffled skirts, embellished tank tops, tote bags, dresses, and even bathing suits (yes, really! It goes swimmingly, and the students are so proud!), they'll learn to:
- Cut and sew based on a pattern
- Put in zippers
- Sew stretchy fabrics on a serger
- Sew pockets
- Troubleshoot your sewing machine
And much more! I love love love sewing. It's so much fun, and I look forward to passing on the joy of sewing to students this year!
The Details
Students must be at least 10 years old (if younger please call to get approval) and bring their own drinks and snacks. Students can take breaks whenever they want. Just no open food or drinks in the sewing room. We have a lounge you can take breaks in.
